A social group that cares about its communty too

Beccles Helping Hands is a social group that was founded in the town in 2004. We organise various events for the local community as well as ourselves and the money we raise gets donated to local organisations, charities and members of the local community and outlying villages that are in need of support financially and otherwise. To date we have donated over £35,000 to local organisations such as St John’s Ambulance, Beccles Lido, U3A, Scouts, and BACT to name but a few. We have also donated mobility scooters, helped members of the community to purchase special beds, or chairs, or help financially with long term hospital visits outside of the local area.

Our main events, and the ones we are best known for, are our History Walks & Ghost Walks, which bring in the largest revenue. We also organise music, skittles, darts and 10 pin Bowling nights. We have our own skittle alley which we hire out.

We also work closely with other organisations such as the Beccles Lions and Rotary Club helping out with community events such as the Beccles Food & Drink Festival (May), Hospital Fete (June) and the Christmas Light Switch on (November).

We are always happy to welcome new members to our group, so if you are new to the area and want to get to know people, or have lived here for years but never heard of us, we would love to meet you.

We have a meeting on the 1st Wednesday of the month, and the February meeting will be 5th February at 7.30pm at the Town Hall, so feel free to come and meet us and find out more about what we do.

Our membership cost is only £3 for the year, so if you would like to have some fun and support your local community at the same time then please get in touch.

This is an opportunity to make new friends and have fun, and support your local community.

Please mention Clubaroo when contacting the Club.
