Hey! I’m Steve Murfet, an avid watersports enthusiast.  I started Hunstanton Watersports back in 2006 and is going strong to this current day!

I have been involved in watersports most of my life, as you can see, I love watersports and everything about watersports.
Now I get the opportunity run a thriving watersports school where I can share my passion, knowledge and instruct others wanting to learn these awesome sports and hobbies.

The beach is where I am at home!

Paddleboarding Lessons & Activities

Stand up paddleboarding has been running at Hunstanton Watersports including paddleboard hire and rentals for the past 7 years.  In 2013 we gained our BSUPA (governing body) recognition making us the only regulated centre offering paddleboarding in Norfolk.  Paddleboarding has witnessed huge growth over the last couple of years and has recently become the most popular paddle sport in the world.

Paddleboarding or Stand Up Padlebaording (SUP) is fun, active, sociable and at the same time a fantastic all over body workout. Great for keeping in shape without putting too much stress on the body. Paddleboarding is a also a great way to explore the Norfolk coast line and perfect for any age.

Paddleboard hire and rental costs only £15 per hour.

Paddleboard hire will need to be booked in advance, all you need to bring is a towel.  If you feel you would benefit from a two hour intro lesson then please select the details of the our courses below.  Its only £40 for a two hour taster session and the perfect introduction to the world of stand up paddleboarding.

Ready to Learn?

Our paddleboard taster session is the accredited BSUPA Level 1 “Ready to Ride” course which is aimed at people who have never stand up paddled before or people who have had a go but want to learn the basics.

Learning to paddleboard is a fast and fun process with a qualified BSUPA instuctor. The course structure is designed to give you the information you need to get on the water safely, have fun and learn the technique of paddleboarding.

During the course you will be given an introduction to how the weather and environment affects you, how to carry the board and paddle, paddling technique, different types of turns, self rescue, how to fall safely as well as how to plan expeditions and the basics of stance in surf.

The 2 hour course is run in flat water and at the end of it you will be presented with your BSUPA Level 1 Ready to Ride Card.

Windsurfing Lessons with Hunstanton Watersports

We provide beginners to intermediate windsurfing lessons in Hunstanton, Norfolk which is one of the best locations to learn how to windsurf.  You can feel confident that all our lessons take place in safe, shallow waters where individuals are taught in small groups, allowing for a more personal experience tailored to your individual progress.

Our windsurf school boasts an ideal location for learning to windsurf with shallow, calm conditions the environment could not be any better suited.  This is ideal for beginners and intermediates wanting to progress.

Powerkiting Lessons

Powerkiting is an exhilarating, exciting up and coming sport.  Powerkiting is the backbone of any kite related sport; the skills you need for powerkiting are the exact skills you need to progress onto kite landboarding, buggying or even kitesurfing.

We start at the very basics of introducing a variety of powerkites and run you through the kite set up.  There is an element of theory involved in the course, including how the kite fly’s and outlining the wind-window which includes describing the different zones etc

You will learn about site assessment and the safety of powerkites, these areas are key parts of powerkiting as many accidents occur, through lack of knowledge.

Note* All equipment needed is provided and included in the price of the powerkite course.
