Clover Hill Community Association maintains and manages the Village Hall on behalf of the residents of Bowthorpe (Clover Hill, Chapel Break and Three Score areas of Norwich). The Village Hall provides a venue for educational, recreational and social activities, to the benefit of all sectors of the local community. The Association has charitable status, and comprises of local residents and representatives from regular, volunteer-led user groups.

These rooms have quality facilities and equipment, in good condition, at a convenient location west of Norwich city centre, 3 miles from the A47 southern bypass and on main bus routes into Bowthorpe.


Clover Hill Village Hall is a venue used by businesses as well as local community groups who hire a room to hold their various activities in its pleasant surroundings. The building has a car park and each room is accessed via a large entrance foyer, and all room areas have disabled access. The main hall has a stage and kitchen servery, together with access to an outside area. In addition to the meeting rooms for hire there is also a large kitchen.


The Main Hall is a bright airy room with a high ceiling and double doors leading to a securely fenced garden area. It is an ideal room to be hired for family parties, sporting activities, presentations, large meetings, worship, shows, craft fares and fundraising events.

At one end of the hall there is a curtained stage. There is access to the table and chairs storage, including childrens’ sized benches and chairs. One side wall has a full height mirror and two additional large mirrors. A room divider and selection of childrens’ toys are available for childrens’ parties.

These include ride-on toys, see-saw and rockers for indoors & outdoors, and soft play.

Adjoining the hall is a small kitchen servery equipped with a gas hob and electric oven, a domestic fridge, small microwave, double sink with double drainer, and a hot water urn. This area has a large service hatch into the main hall.

Maximum capacity: 240 closely seated, 220 dancing, 180 combined seating and dancing, 140 seated at tables.

The Activities Room alongside the main hall has access to the backstage area so is ideal for participants when using stage for productions, performances etc. There is a sink unit with facilities for making drinks, a toilet off the room, tables and chairs. It can also be used as a crèche, for meetings or training sessions.

The Meeting Room is a sunny room equipped with white boards, pull down screen and can have a variety of seating arrangements. There is a single toilet off the back lobby, and an outside patio area. The back lobby also leads to the large, well equipped kitchen (see main kitchen) which has a hatch opening to the meeting room.


It can be hired on its own or with the kitchen for smaller functions and meetings making it a perfect room for training sessions and small presentations.

The main kitchen has central and side work preparation areas, double sink and drainer, cooker with gas hobs and electric oven, large refrigerator, 2 freezers and a dishwasher. There is a range of pans and baking utensils, crockery and cutlery, and other kitchen equipment.

The main kitchen is usually hired in conjunction with the meeting room, although there is a hatched opening to both the meeting room and main hall.
