Swimming Lessons for all abilities. Squad Training for Competitive Swimmers.

Norwich Swan Swimming club is steeped in history with the club beginning in 1880. The club provides the opportunity for all levels to be involved in the sport of swimming, from those starting out Learning to Swim, to those trying to perfect their skills at a County, Regional or National level.

The club is led by a professional team of Coaches and Teachers, but the club would not run without our vast team of volunteers, all who work together to provide a positive, family friendly team. Our goal is to ensure that every individual is given the pathway to fulfil their potential and that every success is celebrated.

Over 100 years ago when the club first came together, it was about a group of like-minded people coming together with a common goal. Today, there is still a common goal- not just as swimmers but as young people. Norwich Swan supports the holistic development of it’s swimmers to ensure that the club is a vital part of every young person’s journey and success.

Norwich Swan Swimming Club runs a comprehensive, Learn to Swim programme that takes swimmers from absolute beginners and gives them opportunity to progress to Regional and National standard within the Club.

The Club operates the British Gas ASA Learn to Swim Pathway.  All teachers are Amateur Swimming Association qualified and have Child Protection training and clearance.

We normally start to teach children from four years old but our Parent and Toddler lessons start at age one.

Our lessons cost £21 a month, payable through our monthly online billing system. Lessons are once a week and 30 minutes long.

After completing "Learn to Swim" swimmers progress to squad sessions where technique is developed and opportunities given to swim competitively.  Swimmers progress through a range of squads, can compete for the club in a range of Galas and take part in Open Meets and Championships at County, Regional, and National level.

We have swimming sessions daily. Please follow this link to see the full schedule:

Finding your Swanability:

As a club, we understand that swimmers learn in different ways and some have extra swimming challenges they have to manage. This challenge may mean you have to concentrate and work extra hard at things such as reading the clock, following 'Go Times', processing a set, performing a stroke for example - the list is endless. You might even have a recognised disability.

Whatever it is that affects your swimming, we can try and work it out together. We want to be an inclusive swimming club and together with your help we can make that happen.

If you're a swimmer or a parent and want to chat about something further please email Caire Dyke (Disability Officer)

Welcoming new members.
