WELCOME TO NORWICH LADS AMATEUR BOXING CLUB
The Norwich Lads Boxing Club was founded in 1918 by John Henry Dien with the aim of giving the young people of Norwich a place to go and learn the art of boxing while keeping them off the streets thus giving them a purpose and identity.
Over the years it has been in the hands of many custodians who give up hours, days, months and years of their time so this great club can continue to carry John’s vision and values today. It’s these values and beliefs that have enabled the club to still be at the heart of the fabric of Norwich and Norfolk history nearly 100 years on.
For the young men and Women who buy into the clubs ethos “Speak True, Live Pure“ they learn the importance of friendship, belonging, commitment, dedication and family.
We are inclusive to all and provide a safe environment for young people to meet. However there is a very serious side to this club that isn’t a place to have fun or laugh and only the truly committed and dedicated survive the Norwich Lads Boxing Club experience.
As someone once famously quoted “you can play football and cricket, but you don’t play boxing”.
